Hi all,
I'd appreciate any advice you could provide regarding my new glasses.
Last week I had my eyes tested & picked up a new pair of glasses this Tuesday.
I plumped for pentax coating for anti-reflection & owing to a change in my prescription, I took the advice of getting thinner lenses, to avoid any resemblance to milk bottles!
What I wasn't old until trying on my new glasses (and after having paid for them) was that the lens thinning technique may result in "colour distortion" at the edges of lens view. I hadn't heard of chromatic abberation in eye glasses before and although this is only the 2nd day of wearing them, I am finding this very frustrating.
I'm doubly frustrated having just purchased a pair of Zeiss 7x42 FLs recently - one of the + points being their lack of CA!
Has anyone else encountered this annoying side-effect of thinner eye-glass lenses and if so, how have you got on? I'm very tempted to get my money back on the glasses altogether - especially as they weren't cheap in the 1st place.
I look forward to any tales people may be able to share!
I would certainly return the eyeglasses as this was something that should have been told to you when you first placed your order. I'd be a bit incensed as well. Good luck.
Mine give CA, but only within about 20% of the edge, much less than the part the exit pupil from my binocs passes through.
