IMO is the Reverse Porro Compact (under 30mm) binocular. Comparatively inexpensive to downright dirt cheap, Very good views optically as long as you're not hyper critical, great for most daytime use and even into twilight in a pinch. Super light, fairly robust, small, smooth focusing unlike many full sized WP porros. Take anywhere. Overall my favorite type of Binocular.
I'd like to hear about your favorites and why? I'd especially like to hear about anything in the $150 or less price range. I've just ordered a pair of the Vortex but would like to own maybe one or two notable others? I'd be curious if anyone has found something 6x to 7x?
Maybe due to the fact that this is a primarily birding site I'm asking at the wrong place but I'm going to give it a shot.
Disagree. I have yet to use one that had a comfortable view. Nice optics, yes. Comfortable view? no.
IMO comfort/ease of use trumps having top clarity/resolution/optics, though obviously the real key is a balance of compromises.
