Big brown truck delivered today. Not much time to play with them. But, my first impression is........... WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Positively blow the 8x42 Monarch out of the water. Will add to post as I look thru them some more.
My Mag82 spoter came in too, but my tripod has not arrived yet. Did set it up on an old camera tripod I have(very carefully). Too shaky to tell a lot. But even with shaky tripod, crappy atmosphere and nearly dark, spotter is definitely usable all the way up to the 75x. Think it will be a winner. I will post more when tripod comes in and I have time to monkey with it.
delta,
Your impressions pretty much match my own in terms of both the binocular and the spotter. I had a chance to check out the Wapiti last summer and was very impressed by the flat field and edge performance...plus the CA control. The only issue I remember in a somewhat negative sense was that they were a bit heavy...not overly so...but noticeably more than what I was comparing them to at the time.
Definitely a keeper though.
As for the Mag82...would love to hear your impressions when you have more chance to play with it. It has certainly warmed up to me. I look forward to doing more comparisons between it, the Celestron Regal and the Zen Ray (should arrive today).

Frank, been playing with the binoculars some this am. No tests , just panning and looking. Still impressed. A lot. I admit that the best I have owned up till now was the Nikon Monarch ATB in 8x42. And the Nikon certainly is not a bad binocular. Far from it. But the Theron is clearly, hands down, better. From what I can tell so far, the Theron is of at least the same quality build as the Nikon. And I really like the focus and diopter better on the Theron. FOV is simular to the Monarch. I know some like a wider FOV, but for me, these are fine. I think for those of us that can't drop the big bucks for an Alpha, the Theron will do just fine.
Have to wait for my tripod to get here before I can tell anything about the Mag 82 spotter. Set it up on an old camera tripod late yesterday, but it was shaky to the point that when a car drove by (I live next to a highway) you could not look thru the scope. Same trying to focus.
