I have a pair of Bushnell 8x40 Natureview, and I wear eyeglasses. These binocolars come with pretty standard rubber eyecups, and I am starting to notice lines in the rubber from where I have repeatedly folded them for use and unfolded them for storage.
My question is: Is it better to leave the eyecups folded down and just store them this way, or continue folding and unfolding like I'm doing now.

I find they just break off after a while and as I also wear glasses and never use them in the raised position I don't bother replacing them now. If you can take them off and keep them safe in case you want to sell the binos I'd do that.

My Bushnell Birdlife 8x42 are seven years old now and they've been folded down all the time, still starting to crease though.Don't worry about it ,it's what you see with them that matters.
