Watching a recorded edition of Cash in the Attic, one of the items which went to auction was a pair of binoculars/camera. They looked like a standard binocular but between the two eye pieces was another identical one, perched between and above them. This was the same length but contained a camera. Think they went for about £100.
They have been around for a while. A digital camera fitted between, and boresighted to the binoculars.
They are very much aimed at the cheapskate gadget freak and mostly have a crap camera attached to a crap pair of bins!
I would avoid.
I was thinking about this the other day. Surely if you could get a modest digital camera attached to a decent pair of bins, it could be useful for record shots for ID purposes, much the same as the remembird recorder for bird calls and songs.
Imagine a decent (£200-300+) pair of bins with a discreet built in camera and microphone. OK, you wouldn't get great pictures or recordings, but they could be enough to clinch an ID.
