BARSKA x-trail 10X50 £55 in shop (£45 AMAZON) - 367(field of view),5(exit pupil),22.3(twighlight),MULTI coated,BAK7
OPTICRON COUNTRYMAN MC 8x42 £104 in shop - 430 (fv),5.25 (exit),18.3 (twighlight),FULLY MULTI,BAK4

Hi Kishy,
There is a much more sudden transition from night to day as you get closer to the equator, unlike the lovely long twilights of the Irish summer. So you may be burdening yourself with a much bigger glass than you will need. A 7x35 or an 8x32 sized glass would be easier to carry with no real loss of performance, imo.
That said, of your choices I'd be leery of the Barska, because I've not been impressed by their performance.
Bushnell has likewise been hit or miss, so that leaves the Opticron as the survivor, but I've no personal experience with them.
I'd pick the little Leupold Yosemite 8x30 or the Nikon Action Extreme 7x35, waterproof and rubber armored porros as well suited for the task.

I have a pair of Natureviews. They aren't bad binoculars. I just saw that they have porro and roof prism versions. I have the porros.
