I'm thinking about adding some Kitchen Window shelf bins, some thing to pickup quickly that don't have to be fretted over and that can do double duty as backups for my 8.5x43 birding bins.
Kid's wife and others will use these for general use, none of them are too discerning and I may drag them along to football games concerts and the like.
Seems to me these ought to be very forgiving for non experienced users and I may like them too.
At the current sale prices at CL I'm thinking Vortex's Viper 6x32 would be really hard to beat for this.
Any others I ought to be looking at for say around $250?
Might want to give the Atlas Optics Intrepid ED 7x36 a look. On sale for $250 and look to be basically the same as the highly touted Zen-Ray 7x36 ED2s. Someone else can chime in to validate that.

Here's a comparison between the 7x36s and the 6x32s by ILya Koshkin. The 7x36s trump the 6x32s!

Next to my window at work I keep a pair of old 6x30 Swift Sea Hawk porro prisms that I bought used for about $35.00 USD years ago. 437 feet/1000 yards. Nice bright and sharp optics. And I won't cry if something happens to them. ![]()
