Can someone explain the difference between Viper and sidewinder. Their spec looks very similar while Viper doubles the price of sidewinder. I know Vipers have some fancy names like XD for their glasses, which means nothing to me other than some fancy trademarks. Can someone explain in plain English (or in technical terms) why Vipers are better than sidewinders, worthy the extra $200. For example, do they use the same construction, how many groups/elements for each barrel? Maybe someone can dissemble one to take a peek (since Vortex has VIP warranty
) and tell us..
I am debating whether to try sidewinder or viper for my next purchase. The people in my local store have no clue what they are selling..

Disassembly will probably void the warranty.
The differences are in the quality of the glass, coatings, and accessories. I'm sure the folks at EO will be very specific, if you just ask them.
