Cameras and Lenses

What is the haziness? and how do I get rid of it.

I bought a pair of second hand binoculars and when I look throught them there is a hazy image at the bottom left hand side. I have tried cleaning the lenses (outside only) and it doesn't seem to help. They seem very clean to the naked eye.

Any idea what it is or how to get rid of it?

The haze is likely internal condensation on the prism faces, possibly dust, moisture, exudations from the plastic or grease or even fungus, so it is difficult to deal with, at least for amateurs.
There are helpful texts available, such as
http://www.deutscheoptik.com/catalo...products_id=168
but at $60 plus shipping before including any tools, it seems uneconomic.
There were some very capable bino repair specialists in Edinburgh mentioned elsewhere on this forum, but they surely must have a 30-40 pound minimum fee just to survive.
You have to decide whether the binocs are worth it.
Best of luck!

Thanks for your reply. I was considering replacing them anyway as they are too heavy but I think this seals it.
