Which binoculars for children?

I have a five year old grandson with a lot of outdoor curiosity, which I would like to support.

We're thinking about a starter pair of bins for him and want something a step up from the plastic toys that seem to appear when I google "children + binoculars".

It does seem that lower power bins are suggested for kids, e.g. 4x.

I am wondering about the thoughts of others here for a starter pair for a young man in, say, the $100 US range.

Thanks, Bradley

Better have him go to try some out because they might not be a good fit for his eyes. I would say Go to a binocular dealer.

Bradley!

I think it's wise to give a binocular with low power and fairly lightweight to a little kid. One in my opinion perfect real binocular for children is maybe this 5x25:
