I am trying to decide between the Nikon LXL's and the Leica Ultravids in a 10x42. Any opinions regarding the two would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I'd say the LXL because they're $800.00 cheaper and are every bit as good optically. For what the Ultravids cost, you could buy both a 10x42 and a 8x32 LXL, or a 10x42 and a good spotter, and still be money ahead. Don't get me wrong because the Ultravids are beautiful binos, but $1800.00 is a lot of money, at least to me it is.....
I should mention I just sold a Nikon 10x42 Venturer/LX and bought a Leica Ultravid 8x42, but the only reason I did so is because the Ultravid was basically NIB and was $900.00. The Nikons were right on par optically, but were heavier; however, the LXL solves that problem....
Have you been able to get your hands on both? If not, I'd suggest you do so, because what looks and feels good to me, might be completely wrong for you.
My comments would mirror Buster's. Optical quality is at the same level but price is not. Both are superb bins but I would not see a reason to spend the extra money and not receive anything extra in return. Someone else may be able to offer an alternative line of reasoning.
