Why do i see dots through binoculars?

Why do i see dots through binoculars? I am writing about small, dark, spots visible when looking towards the sky, but not noticeable when looking at darker areas, such as woods. They are not bothersome, they just make me curious. When i noticed this for the first time, it was a tiny dark spot at 8 o'clock and close to the edge of the field through a 10x35 Nikon E II. I looked hard with a flashlight to find the culprit, but i found none.
Then, i noticed a similar spot at tea time and close to the edge through my beloved 8x32 EL. But the inside of the glass is pristine. I don't see dots throught the Ultravid 10x42, but they are at 12 o'clock in the FL 8x32, and at 9 o'clock through the 7x42 SLC.
There must be something wrong with my eyes. Gotta eat more carrots.
