Got an old pair of porro 7x35 'Ranger Deluxe' binos that has stamped on it 'extra wide view, 11 degrees, 578 feet at 1000 yards'. Not a stunning view through these binos, but it does show a wide vista! Any other porros that show that wide a view, or wider? Just curious, don't see anything new that seems to be wider than 480' in porros or roofs.
In terms of a high quality image the widest ones I am aware of are the Nikon 8x30 EIIs at around 8.8 degrees. I think the inexpensive Nikon Action are around 9.2 degrees if memory serves me but I cannot think of any wider...
...maybe the Bushnell "Xtra Wide" series? I know there is a wide field of view with those but they are very distorted around a good percentage of the field of view.
Audubon Raptor 8x42 at 430ft./1000 yds.
Anybody rate these yet?
Nikon Binoculars Action EX Extreme 7x35
489 ft./1000 yds
There may be others at 7x. Why is there no 7x40?
